Rodney D. Pierce, an eighth grade social studies teacher at William R. Davie Middle STEM Academy, has been chosen to attend the Carolina Oral History Teaching Fellows Program in Civil Rights from Monday through Thursday on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill.

Pierce to present at social studies conference

Rodney D. Pierce, a third-year sixth grade Social Studies teacher at William R. Davie Middle STEM Academy, will present at the 2018 North Carolina Council for Social Studies Conference next month in Greensboro.

Farm-fresh fruits and vegetables will soon be on the menu for Halifax County children.

Halifax County Schools issued a statement today concerning the arrests of two students Wednesday on first-degree rape charges.

Halifax County commissioners today endorsed a request from Halifax Community College on how the school intends to use its $6.519 million Connect NC Bond award.

With support from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, the Halifax County Public Health System will expand a program aimed at decreasing obesity by encouraging physical activity and healthy eating within the county’s three school districts.

Goodwill Community Foundation donated $22,372 to Halifax County Schools to purchase and house commercial washers and dryers at all 10 schools in the district.
