Sergeant Mike Moseley of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department was dispatched to 201 Old Farm Road around 8:30 p.m. following a report of a man waving a handgun.
Lieutenant P.W. Parks also arrived and saw a vehicle leaving the area.
The front seat passenger, according to Captain Andy Jackson, reportedly had a .40-caliber magazine in his front pocket. The driver of the car reportedly admitted he had a weapon in the car.
Police charged Phillip Khai Jr., 22, with possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a concealed weapon. He was given a $10,000 bond and September 5 court date.
Police also arrested Wilson Dominique Green, 18, of Weldon for resist, delay and obstruct after he reportedly gave police false information on his age.
Green, who faces an attempted murder charge, was given a $128,000 bond due the previous count lodged against him.
Khai, according to state Department of Correction records, was released from prison in February after serving three years on breaking and enter counts that stemmed from 2010 charges.
