Alleged Madison St. shooting suspect ID'd

Roanoke Rapids police have identified the alleged Madison street shooting suspect as Motique D. Jackson of Weldon.

The shooting occurred Friday night in the 300 block of Madison Street and was related to an ongoing personal dispute between Jackson, who also goes by the name Montique, and the victim, according to Detective Jeff Davis.

Jackson, 21, has a previous criminal record and is known to frequent the downtown area of Roanoke Rapids as well as the Weldon area. His current location is unknown.

Warrants have been filed for his arrest on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, going armed to the terror of the people and discharging a weapon in the city limits.
