The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice reports that a juvenile placed in its custody at the Dobbs Youth Development Center in Kinston failed to return to the facility today following a home visit.

Joshua D.

The juvenile is identified as Joshua D. and was last seen at 9:30 a.m. today on Carver Street in the Lincoln Heights area.

A division spokesperson declined further elaboration this afternoon due to the person in question being a juvenile.

The division has notified local law enforcement, which is cooperating fully with the investigation.

Due to the unpredictability of juvenile behavior, division officials have a high degree of concern for the safety of both the juvenile and the public, the division said in a statement.

Members of the public should report sightings of this juvenile to local law enforcement officials.

They are also encouraged to contact Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
