Blue Flame Fuels is restructuring its operations and will sell its three convenience stores to New Dixie Oil, according to a news release.

Chuck Overton, president of Blue Flame Fuels, said in the statement it will sell the Gaston Citgo, The Store Next Door on Fifth Street and the Weldon Blue Flame.

Overton will continue to own and operate Roanoke Valley Ice Company, the laundry businesses on Fifth and Tenth streets in Roanoke Rapids, along with the Crystal Rapids Car Wash on Tenth Street and the Fifth Street self-service car wash bays.

“The c-store industry and our market are constantly evolving in that we must all expect continued change with challenges and embrace them as opportunities,” said New Dixie President Scott Aman in the statement. “Often, that includes divesting, reinvesting and repositioning for the future.”

Aman believes this is a good fit to its long-term managed growth plans.

New Dixie Oil is a petroleum marketer that has grown its wholesale supply and company operations in both North Carolina and Virginia.

This includes modern company-owned and operated stores offering name brands such as Shell, BP, Exxon, Mobil and Marathon fuels plus fast foods like Dairy Queen and Subway. Both Aman and Overton said in the statement they realize the value of all personnel involved and are working to assure them of their opportunity for continued employment.
