The following is a summary of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office 2014 and updated 2013 index crime data as submitted to the State Bureau of Investigation through the Uniform Crime Reporting Program. Also included is the Index Crime Rate based upon the index crime data reported.

You will find 2014 arrest data submitted by the Sheriff's Office.

(Please find two attachments at the end of this article. The first is a summary of crimes rates reported for the years of 2013 and 2014 for comparison purposes)

This reflects crime data that has been received and processed by the SBI as of May 19, 2015.

This crime data will be used in the 2014 Annual Summary Report and is posted to the SBI's website.

The input from the Halifax County Sheriff's Office and the support of the program ensures the State's proper management of state legislation and policy affecting millions of dollars annually, as well as the media, academia, city and county governments.

2014 the Assault Crime rates are DOWN from 2013...

2014 the Burglary Crime rates are DOWN from 2013...

2014 the Larceny Crime rates are UP from 2013...

2014 the Motor Vehicle Theft rates are UP from 2013...

It is important to note all crimes are reported and counted.

However, through investigation, not all cases are determined to be substantiated, some are unsubstantiated.
