Planned saturation patrols throughout last week to thwart a rash of vehicle break-ins paid off Saturday morning with the arrest of a 17-year-old and 14-year-old and the issuance of warrants for another teen.
Roanoke Rapids police offers answered 16 calls of motor vehicle break-ins over the night and early morning hours of Saturday and Sunday.
Since July 1 there have been more than 60 motor vehicle break-ins in Roanoke Rapids, Investigator Bobby Martin of the police department said.
Within the last two days, nine cars have been broken into in Roanoke Rapids.
