City Council Regular Meeting
Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 5:15 p.m. in the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
The City of Roanoke Rapids is now accepting applications for the following positions:
Lifeguard (Part Time)
An employee in this position assists in all aspects of operations of the recreation center swimming pool and aquatic center. The employee has the responsibility for making sure that the facility is maintained in good condition, to ensure that participants in swimming activities and classes are in a safe and clean environment.
Minimum Qualifications: Must hold American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/ CPR/AED certification – Must be able to complete ½ mile swim in under 20 minutes.
Sanitation Worker
An employee in this position works as a member of a crew led by a Sanitation Equipment Operator in loading and unloading refuse over an established route. Must hold a valid NC Driver’s License.
Sanitation Equipment Operator I
An employee in this position operates sanitation equipment such as a knuckle boom on an assigned route to collect and dispose of solid waste and refuse from residential and business areas. Applicants must hold a valid NC Commercial Driver’s License.
Police Officer
This position is responsible for the enforcement of state and local laws.
Qualifications include:
*Be a high school graduate or have passed the General Educational Development Test indicating high school equivalency.
*Possession of valid driver's license with an active and consecutive 3-year satisfactory verifiable driving history. Driving history will be checked. (Must be able to be licensed in the State of North Carolina).
*Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the North Carolina Training and Standards Commission.
*Must possess a valid or current Basic Law Enforcement Training (B.L.E.T.) certificate.
Candidates must provide documentation of B.L.E.T. Certificate. Certified Officers preferred but will accept application for BLET Candidates.
(CERTIFIED Starting salary $35,000.00)

BRIEFS
MUNICIPAL OFFICES CLOSED/TRASH COLLECTION: Municipal offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2020 in observance of Labor Day. Trash collection routes for Monday will be collected on Wednesday, September 9th.
