The Roanoke Rapids Police Department will honor its three fallen officers as well as others who died in the line of duty in Halifax County.

Incumbents candidates in Halifax County won in Tuesday’s primary election.

Three charged in sweepstakes robbery

Three Roanoke Rapids men were charged in the Saturday morning armed robbery of a Halifax area sweepstakes business.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the armed robbery of sweepstakes business which occurred this morning just after 8 a.m.

The early voting process in Halifax County has seen 2,083 people cast ballots as of Thursday, according to the board of elections.

Roanoke Rapids High School students got their first taste of the election process through registering or casting their first ballots early for the upcoming primary Tuesday.

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an April 24 larceny in which more than $1,000 worth of Adidas merchandise was taken.
