Halifax Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society spent a recent afternoon delivering holiday donations and a holiday program to the residents of the Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

PTK co-advisors Gary R. Redding and Ellen Divens accompanied PTK members

Brianna O'Neal, Jerry Altamirano, Markayla Tann, and Trequan Watson.

The members delivered crossword puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, blankets, winter clothes, hair brushes and combs, body wash, toothbrushes and toothpaste, mouthwash, lotion, stuffed animals, and more.

Additionally, PTK performed holiday songs, played holiday trivia, and shared poetry with the residents.

PTK concluded their visit by enjoying reminiscence therapy with the residents who shared childhood memories, school experiences, and goals for 2024.

HCC President Patrena Elliott, who was also in attendance, said, “Thank you to the staff and residents for hosting us. We are so proud of our HCC scholars and their dedication to community service.”
