A Rocky Mount minister who told a deputy he buys pot every two months for himself was arrested Friday, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following:
•A 13-year-old juvenile has been petitioned to court for breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. Detective Doug Pilgreen said in a news release on Aug. 22 Deputy Roy Viverette responded to a breaking and entering and larceny on Edwards Fork Road in the Scotland Neck area where a shed was broken into and numerous items were stolen. The investigation resulted in petitions in being obtained.
•Sterling Douglas, 33, from the Enfield area, is wanted for obtaining property by false pretenses. William Joseth Love, 37, from Roanoke Rapids, is wanted for breaking and entering into a vehicle and larceny. He also has several outstanding orders for arrest for unrelated charges.
Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Jeff Hinton reported the following:
•Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cedar Street around midnight. Four unknown people described as black males poured gasoline around the front porch of a residence and were spotted by neighbors who called police. The males fled before police arrived. Gasoline was cleaned up and no damage reported. This case is still under investigation.
•On Monday, Dixie Medlin, 30 of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession of schedule III, possession of schedule IV and possession of prescription medication with no prescription. She was released on $10,000 bond and has an Oct. 14 court date.
• On Tuesday, Hieu T. Dinh, 28, of Naples, Fla., was arrested for possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule 1 drugs, possession of schedule IV drugs, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule 1, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance delivery. He went to jail under $5,000 bond and has a Nov. 11 court date.
•A search warrant was executed at 512 Harris Street on Thursday around 10 a.m. from complaints of drug activity. Crack pipes and drug paraphernalia were recovered and charges are pending.
The Park-A-Month program is already getting responses after city council was briefed on it Tuesday night, Parks and Recreation Director Chris Wicker said today.
