A 60-year-old Roanoke Rapids area man was arrested Monday for felonious restraint and allegedly striking the victim with his vehicle.
Lieutenant George Evans of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy J.M. Clark investigated a case where Larry Raylloyd Powell, of Thelma Road, would not let the victim out of his vehicle and also allegedly struck the victim with his vehicle, causing minor injuries.
The victim was treated and released from Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Powell, who was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon, was jailed on $8,000 bond and has an April 6 court date.
