The Roanoke Rapids U-12 All-Stars came up through the loser's bracket for a shot at the District 7 championship beginning Sunday at 2 p.m. in Windosr.

The Roanoke Rapids team must beat Pocosin twice to earn the championship.

In the first game today the Roanoke Rapids team lost to Pocosin, 4-1.

They had four hits in the game.

Cameron Rogerson hit a single and took second base on a passed ball. Marcus Allen moved Rogerson to third.

Colby Warren sacrificed to score Rogerson for their only run.  Aaron Jackson and Bracy Irby rounded out the hitting in the first game.

In the losers bracket game the Roanoke Rapids team beat Cashie, 13-3, in a four inning mercy rule game.

The notched 15 hits.

Joshua Elias got the start in the game, giving up one run in two innings.

Rogerson pitched the third inning, also giving up one run and Allen came in to finish the game.

Irby led off the game with a triple. Rogerson singled, scoring Irby.  Allen tripled and Frankie Griffin doubled, scoring Allen.

Elias singled to drive in Griffin.  After the first inning Roanoke Rapids led 4-1 and never looked back.

Irby walked to start the second inning.

Rogerson, Colby Warren and Allen all singled, loading bases.  Elias doubled, scoring all three runners making the score 10-1 after two innings.

In the bottom of the fourth Griffin reached base on a hard shot to right, Elias doubled scoring Griffin and Jackson Gowen hit a single, scoring Elias.

Hunter Connell hit one up the middle moving Gowen to third. Irby walked loading the bases for Rogerson, who had the game winning hit, scoring Gowen.
