Two Greensboro women were arrested Saturday night on marijuana charges following a traffic stop on the Jackson Bypass Road.

Detective Lieutenant Brenda Burnette of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office said Detective Sergeant Courtney Williams observed a Honda Accord with no license tags and stopped the vehicle.

He called Deputy Kelvin Wright to assist and the two smelled what appeared to be marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The officers found two bags of marijuana in a cup holder and another 14 bags in a tote allegedly belonging to the passenger of the vehicle.

The officers also noticed a 30-day tag in the rear window that appeared to be altered, Burnette said. The tags did not match the car and it was discovered it had been printed off the Internet.
