Investigation by a Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputy Friday resulted in the arrest of an Enfield man on charges he allegedly broke into a storage building and stole computer monitors.

The breaking and entering was discovered two days earlier and the sheriff’s office was called Friday, according to Chief Deputy Wes Tripp.

Tripp said in a press release Deputy R.B. Biggerstaff responded to the call off Highway 561 in Enfield where the victim told him computer monitors were taken from a storage building.

Investigation led Biggerstaff to discover a white Buick LeSabre was seen on the property earlier with the trunk open.

A witness observed computer monitors in the back seat of the vehicle. A man wearing a burgundy sweatshirt was also seen. The suspect allegedly left the area driving in reverse in an apparent attempt to conceal the license plate number.

The witness, however, was able to get the number and pass it on to the deputy.

Continued investigation by Biggerstaff and Deputy R.D. Bozard led to the arrest of Juan Terrell Arrington, 31.

He was charged with breaking, entering and larceny and possession of stolen property. He was jailed on $10,000 bond and has an April 24 court date.
