Halifax Regional Medical Center nurses have a history of showing that they’re among the top nursing professionals in the state.
Recently, another Halifax Regional nurse, Tonya Hasty, RN Cath Lab, received the honor of being recognized among the 2018 Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina.
Hasty was selected among hundreds of nominees from across the state for demonstrating nursing excellence and a commitment to the profession.
In addition to recognizing nursing excellence the group provides scholarships to nursing students across the state.
“Tonya was selected by her peers from across North Carolina for demonstrating outstanding professional ability, excellence in practice, and a passion for healthcare in our community,” said Jason Harrell, chief operating officer. “The impact she has made on our patients is profound and we honor her and all the nurses at Halifax Regional for the great work they do each and every day.”
Hasty has been a nurse at Halifax Regional since 2008. Her compassion, commitment to excellence and drive to do her best makes all the difference to patients, physicians and staff, the hospital said.
Hasty now joins the ranks of 28 other Halifax Regional nurses who have been recognized among The Great 100 since its inception in 1989.
These nurses have all exhibited outstanding professional ability and made significant contributions to improving community health.
Hasty, along with the rest of the 2018 award recipients, will be recognized at a formal gala this Saturday Winston-Salem.
