The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is investigating the unauthorized use of a credit card at various locations throughout the city.

Lieutenant Charles Vaught said use of the card spans from about September 5 through Wednesday.

While the specific locations and amounts charged on the card were not immediately available, Vaught said the card was used at a motel believed to be outside the city limits and the card was used to book a room via the internet.

In a statement Vaught said the identity of the suspect or suspects has not been developed.
