A Roanoke Rapids woman was charged Friday in an employee theft that spanned from January to February and resulted in the loss of $2,388.50 to the store where she worked.
Major Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Shauniyah Robinson, 18, is one of two people allegedly caught stealing money from the West Tenth Street store and that another arrest is pending.

On March 25, deputies responded to the store and were told by loss prevention that money had been stolen through the use of a fraudulent mobile coupon when making purchases. Robinson allegedly conducted 67 fraudulent transactions.
Detective Sergeant I. Miller arrested Robinson for obtaining property by false pretenses.
Robinson posted a $5,000 secured bond and has an August 26 district court date.
