Aunt Ruby’s Peanuts in Enfield was honored Tuesday as the business of the week by the Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The peanuts are produced by family-owned A&B Milling Company.
The company was established in 1945 as a feed, seed and fertilizer store serving the local farmers.
A&B Milling Company's evolution into the mail-order peanut business was a natural one, given the climate and soil conditions of the area.
The company purchases top-quality Virginia-style peanuts, which are known for their lower fat content, large and meaty size, and their flavor and texture.
The peanuts are then shelled, processed and distributed nationally from its plant in Enfield.
