Jones, 49, of Weldon, had several warrants for arrest — many of them taken out by Sergeant T. Mason for breaking and entering and larceny in crimes which occurred in the areas of Longstreet Road, Stuart Circle, Country Club Road, Caroline Avenue, and Shepard Street.

Mason had conducted a month-long investigation into the break-ins and larcenies of yard equipment and tools.

Davis said this afternoon there was also a victim-witness who identified Jones through a photo lineup.

McKimmey placed Jones under arrest and took him before a magistrate. He was charged with six counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of misdemeanor larceny, two counts of injury to personal property, and one count of first-degree trespass.

Jones has numerous court dates set in July and August, including warrants based on the removal of security devices from Walmart.

Jones received a $27,500 secured bond and July 19 court date.

Mason assisted McKimmey during the arrest.

Edibles seized

Saturday morning shortly after 2 McKimmey was traveling south on Country Club Road when he met a vehicle in which the driver failed to dim headlights.

The officer conducted a traffic stop in the Days Inn parking lot.

McKimmey identified the driver as Teven Anthoni Vincent, 19, of Gaston, and reportedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A probable cause search yielded 10 grams of marijuana, 236 grams of THC edibles made to resemble corn chips and Cheetos, and digital scales, Davis said.

Vincent was placed under arrest and taken before a magistrate.

He faces charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

He also received state citations for failure to dim headlights and driving left of center.

He received a $10,000 unsecured bond and August 18 court date.

Mason assisted.
