The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain A.M. Harris:

This afternoon around 2 narcotics and criminal investigators of the sheriff’s office along with Roanoke Rapids police drug agents executed a search warrant on Sandy Lane.

Agent D.J. Epperson had received information of possible drug activity taking place at this residence. 

During the search of the residence agents located approximately 308 grams of marijuana, a shotgun, currency and several items of drug paraphernalia. 

No arrests were made today but are anticipated. Epperson will continue to follow up on this residence.  

On Monday around 10 a.m. Epperson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 125 near Interstate 95 for a motor vehicle violation.  

During a search, cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was seized.  

Epperson arrested and charged Jalen Garner, 25, of Georgia Avenue, for felony possession of cocaine, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance.  

Garner received a $10,000 bond with a July 21 court date.
