The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is looking for a man connected to a second-degree kidnapping which occurred Tuesday around 7 p.m. in the area of Dunham’s Sports.

Chief Bobby Martin said the person who was kidnapped is no longer with the man sought — 49-year-old David Perry, who is from the Roanoke Rapids area. The victim in the case is safe.

Perry is known to frequent the 200 block of Jackson Street and other parts of the city, Martin said.

He has a history of violence, Martin said, and the kidnapping case from Tuesday is related to domestic violence.

According to the state court calendar, Perry has a July 23 district court date for assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon, and a July 20 district court date for assault on a female. 

Perry was last seen in the area of Dunham’s, which is located off Premier Boulevard.
