A Scotland Neck man who was reported missing Monday was found deceased after the vehicle he was driving went off the road and down an embankment off Highway 258 in the Rich Square area.

Trooper T.D. “Bo” Forsht of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the death of 69-year-old Ronald Boone is being investigated as stemming from a possible medical condition.

He said Boone had been reported as missing by family around 4 Monday afternoon.

Boone and his vehicle were located this morning shortly before 9 a.m.

It is believed the crash occurred some time Monday.

Boone apparently crossed the centerline and the vehicle went down the embankment.
