A Roanoke Rapids man faces drug charges following the execution of a search warrant today on Carter Street.
Roanoke Rapids police Chief Bobby Martin said the search warrant was based on complaints about narcotics activity in the area.
The warrant was executed by the police department’s narcotics and investigation divisions as well as the narcotics division of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
During the search, approximately 339 grams of marijuana was seized along with a firearm, several items of drug paraphernalia, a felony amount of cocaine and currency.
Darius Robertson, 29, was arrested and charged with felony possession of schedule II, possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He received a $40,000 bond and August 18 court date.
Martin said the police department is appreciative of the assistance from the sheriff’s office. “We are working together to battle the drug issues within Roanoke Rapids and the county.”
