A Roanoke Rapids man faces numerous charges in a collision which claimed the life of a motorcyclist Saturday, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Trooper R.P. Dennis said Antonio D. Pritchett has been charged with failing to yield, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, no inspection, fictitious tags, failing to register, no insurance and driving while license revoked.

The collision claimed the life of Tyrus D. Neville of Stack Powell Road who was traveling south on Highway 48.

Pritchett was traveling east on State Road 1494 and came to a stop in a Honda at the stop sign before making a left turn onto Highway 48.

Dennis said, however, that  Pritchett “failed to ensure it was clear before traveling onto NC 48 in front of the Suzuki.”

Pritchett collided with Neville, who was thrown from the bike at impact. Neville succumbed at the scene.

No alcohol was suspected nor was speed a factor.

Neville was wearing a DOT-approved helmet.
