Governor Roy Cooper today announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the June 14, 2021 shooting death of Erskine Reginald Lawrence in Severn.

The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office found the 50-year-old Lawrence in the yard of his residence on Mills Street.

The medical examiner concluded that Lawrence died from gunshot wounds to his abdomen.

Captain Patrick Jacobs of the sheriff’s office said Lawrence’s family is also offering a $5,000 reward apart from the one Cooper announced.

Jacobs said detectives have been unable to develop any evidence leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the man’s death.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 252-534-2611 or Crime Stoppers at 252-534-1110.

They may also contact Northampton Detective Lieutenant A. Collier or the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation at 919-662-4500.
