The Northwest High School Class of 1973 recently celebrated their 50th reunion.

"It's a blessing to come back and have as many classmates as possible to share this momentous occasion,” said Georgette Kimball, chair of the planning committee.

Joining Kimball as members of the planning committee were Milton Solomon, Beulah Turner, Leon Abbott, Avis Glaspie, Cynthia Lee, and Andre Phipps.

Walter Lowe, one of the class’s graduates, said, "This reunion has reminded us of the lasting impact our high school years had on our lives. It's wonderful to reconnect with old friends and see how we've all grown and achieved so much.”

Halifax County Schools Superintendent Eric Cunningham said that speaking with the Class of 1973 last month was an honor and pleasure. “The stories and history they shared were truly remarkable. It is heartwarming to know that they feel proud to return to their alma mater and that Northwest High School will always be a special place for them.”

Senior advisor Alfred Riddick, said, “I feel proud to be the senior advisor of the class of 1973. To see so many of them doing well is great. To have a hand in knowing the students, I cannot help but feel happy.”
