ECU Health North Hospital has reopened the second and third floors with new and updated finishes, infrastructure components and enriched space optimization.
The re-opening of the floors follows extensive repairs and renovations to remedy the water damage from a pipe leak in early April.
The hospital said that while it was fortunate that impact to patients and team members was limited, it is grateful to its team members “for their continued focus on providing high-quality care and to community members for their patience throughout the process.”
ECU North President Jason Harrell said, “ECU Health North is proud to serve this community. It’s not just about a building, but team members that care about the community they live in and show up every day to take care of their patients.”
Renovations include floor replacement, fresh paint, new cabinets, new casework, updated plumbing, wall protectors and new furniture. All pipes in the hospital have been inspected and repaired, including water shut off valves.
The repairs and renovations come at a time of improved clinical and technological capabilities for the hospital highlighting new services such as the first mobile PET/CT scanner in the Roanoke Valley, new low-dose CT expanded clinic, network of cancer care and a new enhanced space for all outpatient therapy.
