The Halifax County Schools Board of Education will dedicate the baseball field at Northwest Collegiate & Technical Academy to Charles Chambliss.

The official dedication ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 23 at Northwest and will coincide with the game against Rocky Mount Prep.

Further details regarding the time of the event will be announced at a later date.

This occasion celebrates Chambliss's community contributions and commitment to excellence, the school system said. “Mr. Chambliss's remarkable legacy encompasses a distinguished career as a coach and educational leader. As a testament to his dedication, he has been honored with induction into the Halifax County Schools Hall of Fame in 2019, recognition as Coach of the Year multiple times, and exemplary service as assistant superintendent of Halifax County Schools from 1999 to 2011.”

During his tenure as a coach, Chambliss led his teams to victory in 10 out of 12 baseball championships.

Superintendent Eric Cunningham expressed his admiration for Chambliss, stating, "Mr.

Chambliss's dedication to his athletes and the sport of baseball is truly inspiring. His legacy will continue to shape the lives of countless individuals in our community."
