The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the June 14, 2021 shooting death of 50-year-old Erkine Lawrence in Severn.
“During this investigation, no evidence has been developed to bring the person (or persons) responsible for the death of Erskine Lawrence to justice,” Captain Patrick Jacobs said. “We are asking for the public’s help to bring closure to his family.”
In 2022 the governor’s office offered a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the shooting death.
The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office found Lawrence in the yard of his residence on Mills Street.
The medical examiner concluded that Lawrence died from gunshot wounds to his abdomen.
Lawrence’s family is also offering a $5,000 reward apart from the one Governor Roy Cooper announced.
