John Kenneth Archer (also known as ‘Kenny’), 82, of Jackson, NC, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family at his bedside on June 1, 2025.

He was born in Jackson, NC to John Thomas Archer and Annie Mae Archer. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, brothers-in-law, Willis Owens and Gene Smith and nephew, Mark Owens.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Brenda Parker Archer; daughters, Wendy A. Pierce and her husband, Jimmy, and Jennifer M. Downs and her husband, Brian; two grandsons, Dalton and Tyler Downs; his sister, Kay Smith; sister-in-law, Linda Owens; brothers-in-law, Gene Parker (Jean), Billy Parker (Cheryl); and a host of nieces and nephews and special friends, Anita Bennett (Jarman) and Sharon Parrish (Billy).

Kenneth worked as a Transportation Supervisor I at the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Northampton County, retiring after 43 ½ years. He also worked at J.P. Stevens. Kenneth enjoyed fishing and cruising was one of his favorite things to do.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2 PM at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services - Jackson Chapel with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in Archer Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services – Jackson Chapel.
