Romie Mason Robbins, Sr. 86 of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 8, 1934 in Northampton County to the late, Cornelius McKinly and Evie Bryant Robbins and was preceded in death by his brother, Hillard Knight. 

Romie served his country and was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He was a former manager of Par Gas and retired as a manager of Suburban Propane. He also was a former co-owner of Country Elegance. Romie loved working in his garage, his yard and he could also be found sitting on his porch in the evenings with his neighbors.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy “Dot” Robbins, his daughter, Brenda Robbins of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his son, Buck Robbins and his wife Pam of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his two grandchildren, Jen Watford and her husband, Brad of Holly Springs, NC and Kenny Robbins or Roanoke Rapids, NC; his six great-grand-children, Reed Watford, Luke Watford, Jorden Barnes, Ryilon Barnes, Kenleigh Robbins and Mackenna Robbins and also his very close dear friends, Marguerite Sawyer and Henry Travis. 

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Fresenius Kidney Care Center, Dr. Guo and staff and Dr. Jonathan Jack and staff as well as many other caregivers for all of the exceptional care they gave. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11 am in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service.
