Gail was born March 20, 1938 in Cullman, Alabama to the late Paul and Doyce Hand. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leland Hand; grandson, Jack Fields; and numerous in-laws.

Gail spent her early years in Birmingham, Alabama, before moving to Roanoke Rapids in 1974. She was a generous and loving friend who cherished her home, her family, and her church. Gail worked at VEPCO for many years before retiring to pursue her passion to buy, remodel and sell homes. Gail was one of a kind! She was mighty in spirit with a little sass on the side.

Gail was most passionate about her Christianity and sought to be a beacon of faith and hope to all those around her. She was an active and dedicated member of Victory Baptist Church for many years.

Gail is survived by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Howard A. Fields; and her four children, Linda Fields Bramlett, Leesa Daughtry (Tommy), David Fields (Dana), and Chris Fields (Kristi); 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Hand Nash; and sisters-in-law Peggy Hand and Evelyn Fields.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11am at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy Kobernat officiating. The family will receive friends at 10am at the church prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Gail Fields to Victory Baptist Church Building Fund or Victory Christian Academy c/o Victory Baptist Church, 2360 Bolling Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
