On September 22, 2021, Harold “Big Rob” Edward Robinson Jr, loving husband and father to 2 sons passed away peacefully at the age of 67, in Wilmington NC.

"Big Rob" was born on January 3, 1954 to Harold and Lucille Robinson and grew up in the Halifax, Roanoke Rapids area of NC. He studied business at Campbell University and worked in the automotive industry for over 40 years.

On October 22, 1977 he married the love of his life and best friend Joann of St. Louis MO and they raised two sons, Robbie and Tony. His wife and children were his heartbeat and joy to the end.

"Big Rob" had a passion for family and friends and was an avid Duke Basketball fan. His quick wit, larger than life personality and sarcastic jokes could put a smile on anyone’s face.

"Big Rob" was preceded in death by his father Harold and mother Lucille. He is survived by his wife Joann, his two sons Robbie and his wife Stacy of New Bern and Tony of Charleston, his brother Timmy and his wife Elizabeth of Roanoke Rapids, sister Luanne Phillips and her husband Mark of Greenville and his granddaughter Brooke, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 28th, 2021 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids at 2 pm with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7-8:30 at the Funeral Home.
