Frances Norwood Medlin, 95, of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, July 7, 2022. 

She was raised in Barley, VA. 

Mrs. Medlin was the daughter of the late Charlie Lee and Effie May Norwood. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Elwood Medlin.

Mrs. Medlin was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for nearly 65 years. After working several different jobs in the community, she spent most of her adult life taking care of her children and being a loyal homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Draper of Roanoke Rapids and Teresa M. Barrett and her husband Mike of Pleasant Garden; two sons, Lynn Medlin and his wife Debbie, and Glenn Medlin and his wife Deborah, both of Roanoke Rapids; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy Draper and his wife Jill, Dionna Manning and her husband Tom, Shannon Parrish and her husband Josh, Shelley Tobin and her husband Chad, Blake Medlin and his wife Lauren, Ashley Medlin and her husband Wesley, Winborne Medlin and her husband Zane, Kristi McConnell and her husband Eddie, Lori Williams and her husband John, David Cooke and his wife Lindsey; 23 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Tivie Medlin.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Community Home Care and Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 10 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids with Michael Barrett and Dathan Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., immediately before the service, at First Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
