Paul Gregory Gubbins, Sr., 81, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at his home. 

He was born in Oneida County, New York on May 25, 1941 to the late, Douglas John and Anna Mae  Echler Gubbins and was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Gubbins, Brother, Lynn Gubbins and Brother, Douglass Gubbins, Jr.

Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy where he learned his electrical trade. He loved to play golf and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Grand Knight. Paul was also very active in St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Roanoke Rapids. 

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Dianne Gubbins, daughter, Kathy Barnes and her husband, Chuck, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his two sons, Paul G. Gubbins, Jr. and his wife, Lynn Brunett-Gubbins, of Westmoreland, New York and Brian John Gubbins and his wife, Juliann of Sabattus, Maine; his brother, Mike Gubbins of Kentucky; his two sisters, Joann Emery of Whitesboro, New York and Barb Race of Remsen, New York; his five grandchildren, Rachel Spence and her husband, Justin, Emily Gubbins, Kandace Treadway and her husband, Joshua, Josh Gubbins and Brittany Gubbins; and his two great-grandchildren, Amelia Spence and Sara Treadway. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 2:30 PM with Father Marlon Mendieta officiating at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. 

A second service will be held on November 7, 2022 at 11AM at the Holy Trinity of Utica, New York.

Inurement will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery in Whitesboro, New York.
