Ernest Jefferson “Jeff” Hudgins, Jr. 71 of Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019.

Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late, Ernest Jefferson Hudgins, Sr. and Helen Jackson Moseley Hudgins.

“Jeff” was a 1966 graduate of Weldon High School. He was a veteran of United States Air Force earning the rank of Sergeant. “Jeff” retired from Kennametal.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betsy Holdford Hudgins; his daughter Christy Ivey Zornes and her husband Lawrence of Gaston, his son, Brandon Hudgins and his fiancé Sharon Moseley of Halifax; his grandchildren, Nicole Lynne Zornes Midgett and her husband Jeremy, Crystal Leigh Zornes and her fiancé, Carlton Ham, Kayla Hudgins and Troy Chappell; his great-grandchildren, Sasha Lynne Zornes, Anton Lawrence Midgett and Carly Leighann Ham.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday at 3pm at Halifax United Methodist Church in Halifax, NC with Rev. Steve Formo officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
