Swain Browder, 67, of Halifax, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 in ECU Health Hospice House in Greenville.  

Mr. Browder was born on November 12, 1958 in Halifax County, the son of the late Vivian Thompson Browder and Doniphan “Don” Saunders Browder, Jr..  He is also preceded in death by his grandparents George and Cloy Thompson and Doniphan and Katie Browder.

Surviving include his son Swain Lee Browder, Jr. (Tabitha), his daughters Christi Lane Browder (Sonya) and Paula Marie Cullom (Joshua), his sisters Donna Browder Conwell-Bailey (Richard) and Tina Browder Garvey (Victor), his brothers Gary Doniphan Browder (Glenda) and Keith Everette Browder (Patsy), his grandchildren Chandler, Jacoda, Iijah, Joshua, Jr., and Justin.

A Private Service will be held.  

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
