Darwin “Doc” Edward Sanders, Jr. 69, died June 11, 2019 in his Roanoke Rapids home, surrounded by his loving family.

Doc was born January 3, 1950, in Richlands (Onslow County) NC, the son of Darwin Edward Sanders, Sr. and Gladys Carol Taylor Sanders, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was employed as a chipper operator for Davie Tree Service and had also worked as a cook for both Hardees and McDonald’s.

Doc is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cherry Beth Moseman Sanders, of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Wendy S. and John Howell of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Gabrielle Hendrix and Xena Vick; and a sister, Donna Carol Taylor of Lumberton.

Plans for a memorial service are incomplete at this time and will be announced later.
