Norman Clark Williams, 86, died at his residence on Jefferson St., Monday, April 2, 2012.

Norman was born in Halifax County, April 9, 1925, to the late Charles D. Williams, Sr. and Lucille Collins Williams.  He was a member of Rosemary United Methodist Church, member of the Jaycees and sold insurance for many years for Peoples Security Life Insurance Company.  He loved fishing and his wife, Doris Kathleen, who preceded him in death. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are his brothers C.D. Williams and Francis Williams.

Surviving are his sons, Wayne Williams and wife, Susan and Randy Williams and wife, Dee, all of Roanoke Rapids; daughter, Norma Murphy and husband, Keith, of Wilmington; brother, John Williams of Arizona and a sister, Lucille “Dumpy” Whitby of Roanoke Rapids.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, Mehgan Murphy, Nicole Baird, Paul Kinnin, III, Lauren Williams and one great-granddaughter, Savanna Kinnin.

A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Roy Porter at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel, Thursday, April 5th at 11:00 am.
