Grover Lillian Hardee, 77, of 12157 Justice Branch Road, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Liberty Commons in Weldon.

She was born on July 24, 1935, to the late Grover Wood Hardee and Katie Lillian Joyner Hardee  and also preceding her in death was a sister: Emily Elizabeth Elder and a brother, Horace “Bud” Hardee.

She is survived by her brother, David Samuel Hardee,  of Lexington, Kentucky; two nephews: Paul K. Elder  of the home and Chaplain Captain Johnnie W. Elder;  three great nephews: Joshua Elder, Michael Elder, and Zach Elder, and a great-niece: Elizabeth Elder; and a special friend, Marshall Robertson, of Lexington,  Kentucky.

Miss Hardee was like a mother to her nephews seeing that they got on the school bus in the mornings, packing their lunches and seeing that they got off the school bus in the afternoons.  She loved them dearly and spoiled them rotten. Now Heaven has another angel.

Funeral  services will be held Wednesday, August 22, at Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, at 2:00 P. M. conducted by Rev. Dwight Dunning and Chaplain Captain Johnnie W. Elder.  Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 21, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements.
