Mary Jordan Harris, 87, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at Signature Healthcare.

Mary was born July 31, 1932, in Halifax County to the late Joseph L. Jordan and Rosa Carroll Jordan. 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Harris; her daughter, Vickie Burton; her sisters, Lillain Roberts, Carolyn Fulsom and Dorothy Hendron; her brother, Joseph Jordan, Jr.

Mary loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with her family. She loved working in her yard and keeping house. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and The Young and the Restless.

Mary is survived by her children, Jack Harris, Jr., Patricia Shaw and Gail Fowler all of Roanoke Rapids; her sister, Janell Best of Halifax; her grandchildren, Samuel Brown, Jessica Fowler and Kimberly Harris; her great-grandchildren, Jada Jennings, Jenna Stillman, Gage Brown, Savannah Brown and Jordan White.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Crestview Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Russ Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home of her son, Jack Harris, Jr.
