Eleanor Brown Alexander, 87, of Roanoke Rapids, died February 26, 2013.
Eleanor was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a homemaker for many years as well as a Girl Scout leader and choir member. She was co-founder of AutoVerters Inc. and managed the company for 34 years, known fondly as “Mrs. A” by the employees. She loved gardening, sewing and reading.
Eleanor was a native of Walhalla, SC, daughter of the late Clyde C and Pearl Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin C Alexander and her son, Marvin C Alexander Jr., and a grandson, Scott K Alexander.
She is survived by her sisters, Grace Schap of Chicago, IL and Virginia Grobusky of Seneca, SC; her daughter, Barbara A Dickens and her husband, Tony Dickens, Her granddaughter, Shawn Burke and husband Michael Burke; her grandson Chris Letters and six great grandchildren, Hunter & Taylor Jones, Gabby Burke, Brooks, Spencer & Ellisyn Letters, all of Roanoke Rapids.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Bane Angles officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. Saturday prior to the service. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Alexander Family Cemetery in Salem, SC.
