Betty Lou Hunt Dowles, 75, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at her home.

Betty was born August 2, 1944 in Robeson County to the late Nathaniel Hunt and Emma Lou Chavis Hunt. 

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Hunt and Roy Hunt; her grandson, Tyler Hunt.

Anyone who knew Betty knew how much she loved her family and her coffee.

Betty is survived by her children, Jeffrey Hunt and his fiancé Lorri Elks, Missy Blanton and her husband Barry and Chris “Big Mike” Dowles and his special friend Tiffany Hammack; her sister, Diane Evanston; her grandchildren, Dylan Blanton, Matthew Blanton and Miranda Dowles; her nieces and nephews, Beverly Blue, Wendy Carmichael, Tiffany Salyers, Justin Blue, Brian Hunt and his wife Wanda, Brandi Newsome and Teresa Newsome; her special friends, Rhonda Moseley, Ms. Rosie, Ms. Angie and Vickie Hunt. The family would also like to thank all of those who helped care for Betty over the years

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
