William "Billy" Oliver Ivey, Sr., 80, died Sunday, May 17, 2020 in his Roanoke Rapids home.

Billy was born in Edgecombe County on January 30, 1940, the son of Oliver Stone and Frances Webb Ivey.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Britt Ivey; and his wife, Allie Faye Jones Ivey, who died January 31, 2020.

He was the former owner and operator of Ivey Tile Company, and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons, William O. Ivey, Jr. (Kim), Douglas S. Ivey (Doris), and Michael S. Ivey; grandchildren, Brandon O. Ivey (Jessica), Jacob S. Ivey, Ashley Ivey, Abby Ivey, Nancy Rene Smith and Daniel Smith; great-grandchildren, Eli Ivey, Rhett Ivey, Corbin Clements, Laeha Smith and Lettie Grace Ivey; and sisters, Bobbie Jean Hobgood (Harold), Mavis Owens (Danny Joe) and Linda Heath (Gerald).

Friends may visit with the family at the Ivey residence on  E. 13th Street in Roanoke Rapids from 6 - 8 pm Wednesday.

A private memorial service will be held on Thursday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Community Home Healthcare and Hospice, 525 Becker Drive, Suite A, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
