Jerry Lane Peterson, 49, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026.  

Mr. Peterson was born on April 21, 1977, the son of the late Ruth Ellen Whitman and Mack Wayne Peterson.  

He is also preceded in death by his sister Amy Chambliss. 

Surviving include his best friend Katie Cauthan, his daughters Stormie Peterson, Elizabeth Riggs, and Destiny Peterson, his son Jesse Skeens, his sister Jackie King, his brother Timmy Peterson, his nephews TJ Peterson, James Chambliss, Jr., Kevin Chambliss, Stevie Horne, and Jackson Allen, and his nieces Shannon Souva, Raegan Allen, and Madison King.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
