Virgie Moseley Parks, 83, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Vidant North Hospital.

Virgie was born March 5, 1937 in Brunswick County, VA to the late Charlie Moseley and Ruth Bennett Moseley. 

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Potter, Corine Hammack and Lois Acree.

Virgie was a member of Roanoke Rapids 1st Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was affectionately known as the cake lady. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Virgie was a kind and sweet person and she loved singing gospel music.

Virgie is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Eugene L. Parks; her children, Steve and Renee Parks of Halifax and Debbie Clark and her husband John of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren, James Irvin and J. C. Parks; her brothers and sisters, Sam Moseley and his wife Beulah, Herman Moseley founder of D.I.R.T. and his wife Ruth, Melvin Moseley and his wife Glenda, Milton Moseley, Carolyn Moseley all of Roanoke Rapids and Barbara Ransom of Richmond, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, July 19, 2020 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating. 

Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home
