JC “Bo” Bissette, 82, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Vidant North Hospital.

JC was born February 28, 1938 in Nash County to the late Frank Alphys Bissette and Myrtie Patterson Bissette. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Bissette; his son, Jerry Bissette; his son-in-law, Ellis “Bubba” Williamson, his granddaughter, Patricia Bissette; four brothers, JB, AJ, Jack and Bobby and two sisters, Estelle Webb and Ruby Joyner.

JC was a member of Fresh Fire Assembly of God where he served as an usher. He retired from Bibb Company, He loved boxing, racing, going to the mountains, hunting and fishing. He also coached softball. JC was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and a faithful Christian.

JC is survived by his children, Penny B. Williamson, Cindy Bissette, Glenn Bissette and his wife Barbara and Amy Alston and her husband Andy; his grandchildren, April Portillo, Christy Williamson, Bryan and his wife Harp, Travis, Jessica Bissette, Levi Alston, Joshua Wallace and Kayla Jackson; his great-grandchildren, Ricardo E. Portillo, Victorina Portillo, Addy, Maisie, Ryleigh, Collin and Bentley Bissette, Tatiana Zuniga and Lydia Winship; JC had several very close children that he loved as his own; several nieces and nephews; his brother, Frank Bissette and his wife Betty of Rocky Mount.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 19, 2021 at Fresh Fire Assembly of God with Pastor Chris Howerton, Rev. Donald Gregory and his grandson, Evangelist, Bryan Bissette. Entombment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
