Thomas Lee Moore, 75, departed earth to his home in heaven Sunday, November 18, 2018.

He was born in Halifax County on February 24, 1943, to the late Van Exum Moore and Laura Miles Moore.

He was also preceded in death by his son; Tony Moore, his brothers; Hubert, Dick, Wayne and Harold Moore, his sister; Peggy Wilson.

Tom enjoyed all things outdoors. He loved long rides down to the “Low Grounds” in the country. He loved to fish, hunt and just loved the beauty of outdoors.

He was very passionate about his garden and loved working in it from spring until the first frost. He loved watching the plants grow and found joy in the new life. He enjoyed watching his newfound love from his chair, the birds.

He is survived by his wife Jane of 33 years, his daughters; Fern Moore and Angel Gray and her husband Jimmy all of Roanoke Rapids, his sister; Janet Carson, four stepchildren, twenty grandchildren, and five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Little Country Baptist Church with Rev. James Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation service and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Little Country Baptist Church, 754 Thelma Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
