Donald Frazier Manning, 83, died at home surrounded by his family Thursday, May 6, 2021.

Donald was born in Warren County, July 10, 1937 to the late W.G. “Red” Manning and Ruby Shearin Manning. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Callahan Manning.

In addition to his wife and parents, Don was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Manning, and a sister, Myrtice White.

Surviving are his sons, Michael Manning, Kevin Manning and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Melissa Hale and husband Logan, Jeffrey Manning, Nathan Manning, Matt Manning and wife Kayla, Jenny Manning, Heather Ridley, Chris Munn; great grandchildren, Matthew Manning, George Manning, K.V. Walker, Natalie Walker, Jasiyah Brown, and Aubree Lynn Hale.

Don is also survived by his brothers Henry Manning and wife Deanie, and Frank Manning and wife Judy; his sisters Dean Taylor, Tiny Thompson, Dorothy Hux and husband Lynn, and Louise Tilley; his sister-in-law Kay Powers and husband Tot; and their children and families.

Rev. Randy Martin will conduct a service to celebrate Don’s life Saturday, May 08, 2021 at 11:00 am at a private family cemetery.

The family will receive friends at any other time at the address of 206 Bishop Road, Roanoke Rapids.

Arrangements are under the care of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
